The first collar is engraved with some initials - possibly "HC"The shaft of the whip is covered with finely braided thread and there is a raised spiral pattern under the braiding of the grip

but only part remains

It has its original open leather keeper and a good fine thong with pale blue cord lash

Between the collars the grip of the whip is covered in dark tan leather with a finely stitched seam

There is a a covered toe which would have covered the front of the foot, preventing it from slipping through the iron and getting trappedThe arch itself is covered in leatherThe stirrup itself is probably early Victorian. It has a few repairs and areas of wear : the sole has been partly re covered but there are still areas that have
